Endhiran Sets New Record In Mollywood

Trivandrum: The distribution rights of Rajnikanth starrer 'Endhiran' has been sold for record price in Kerala. 'Endhiran' has already created history by becoming the most expensive film made in India and has completed the post-production works on a whopping 200 crore budget.

GP Vijayakumar of Seven Arts, one of the leading production and distribution house in Malayalam, has grabbed the rights of the film on a 5 crore budget. It is one of the highest price paid for a film in the state, ever. The Telugu rights for the Shankar film, starring Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai, has been sold for a whopping 33 crore. With that 'Endhiran' has already bagged close to 40 crore rupees, even before its theatre releases, in the southern part of the country. The sales of audio CDs of 'Endhiran' are also hitting new heights; more than seven lakh CDs have been sold since the much awaited audio release.

Oscar winner AR Rahman has done the music part of the film, while many stalwarts like Sabu Cyril, Anthony, R Ratnavelu have done the technical part of the cinema.

With the movie being sold out for such high prices in other states, it remains to be seen how much the movie will fetch in Tamil Nadu.
